Students should teach politicians the basics
I was catching up with the latest headlines and a couple of things caught my eye. From a students perspective I thought I might dish out some advice to these politicians.
Politician number one; Ms. Sarah Palin First, she is lashing out at Newsweek for its front cover which shows her posing dressed in running shorts. Excuse me Madame but don’t start complaining you did pose for the picture by the way (just wanted to remind you if you had forgotten). Secondly, she on Oprah telling the whole world that she would just ‘loooooove to run for president, but only if the circumstances are exactly right’. Sarah darling if you actually want to get a decent chance at getting the presidency or getting any where in life you probably should start working and getting back to the politics game. After all this she is going to be off on her book tour soon. Yes, a book tour. I never thought that Sarah actually read books let alone be able to write a book (I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy). I didn’t think politicians actually had book tours I thought their just had a campaign tour/bus, but I guess I thought wrong. Palin got $5m (£2989000) for this book. Politician number two; Mr David Miliband David darling please stop over excising your charms. Your job is being our Foreign Sectary not being a heartthrob. One minute his telling us how his committed to Labour and Britain and the next his sweet talking anything with legs. We are taught in school that lying is bad. Better still we learn from intuition that if you’re trying to get away with something we should best try to keep your story straight take it form a student we know these stuff. No wonder why Labour is a mess, one of their main man is off flirtting to half the population of the world. Just a random question, why were you interviewed by Vogue by the way? Politician number three; Mrs. Hillary Clinton Hillary remember that your married the next you talk about a man. A piece of advice when deciding to have a crush on someone make sure they are not married. In school we learn to keep our crushes to our selves or to those closest to us not blabbing it out to anyone with ears even if your crush is ‘vibrant, vital, attractive, smart, young’ and his accent is irresistible. You don’t see me writing everywhere about my crush on Anthony Eden do you? Are any of the things that these politicians have done in the past week under the job description of a politician? In school we are taught that you first do your work and then you play but if the people who control the country (the people we are told to look up to) don’t follow this basic rule what makes you think us students will? And this is why I think that politicians could learn a lot from us students. 0 Comments:Tuesday, 17 November 2009
Cuties get cash for conversion
What would you do if you read an ad for attractive, well-dressed women, under the age of 35 and over 5ft 7in tall to attend a gala dinner (obviously if you feel you fit the description)? Well I would answer the ad straight away. Who would pass up an opportunity to attend a formal fancy gala and get paid in addition? Not me that’s for sure and it seems to me alot of Italian women agree with me as well, as around 200-500 women responded to the ad. To their amazement instead of a gala dinner they got a presence with the Libyan leader (dictator) Muammar Gaddafi (who was an hour late) and where subjected to a lecture from the Libyan leader about the benefits of Islam, and the role of women in Islam. Add insult to injure they got € 50 (£44) and a free Quran. I personally would have sued him under false advertisement.
#1 As female I find this insulting, why are only attractive, tall and under the age of 35 females asked? What about the rest of us? And excuse me how do you define attractive? Is there a set model on how to judge ‘attractive’? Isn’t beauty in the eyes of the beholder? Get my point about insulting. #2 As a Muslim I am disgusted by this behaviour. Excuse me but we don’t need to pay people to convert to Islam they should do it because they feel like it’s the right religion. Why is there a criteria on who comes to this ‘gala’ and be preached to? Islam is for all not just ‘for attractive, well-dressed women, under the age of 35 and over 5ft 7in tall’. This is not just an unorthodox way of preaching but it insults women and Islam which I believe makes it ineffective and the preaching loses its point. I believe this is not the way to preach or try to convert people. I think this was just some messed up publicity stunt by Gaddafi, its wrong but its worked, his got all the attention he needs. It seems that his mission for visiting Italy was not to attend the United Nations summit on global hunger in Rome but to convert young Italian women to Islam or rather to feed his attention craving ego. Sorry seems so right?
I feel so ashamed. I would like to formally apologise to my readers (if there’s any) about not just the meaningless content of my blog and also my inability to blog everyday (or often). I do feel like crap, I have let you guys down and myself as well. I can’t even keep a bloody blog going now tell me what does that say about me? Stupid girl. That’s what. =[ The blog has been very self centred, when there’s so much going on in the world, that’s more interesting! I wanted to start blogging because one day in the future i wanna have a column in a national newspaper/magazine and i thought blogging would be a great way to start and get into the habit but now i have little faith in myself now.. But I gonna try again. Try harder! With more meaningful contents. So, what do you think am i worthy? Labels: life 0 Comments:Thursday, 12 November 2009
